Fantastic town which offers a great combination of culture, restaurants and nature! We stayed 3 days and loved it!!
It is super easy to walk around.
We visited Blumenstein Museum (absolutely worth it!), walked through the verena’s gorge (amazing), rode a bike along the Aare river till Büren and see Aare (ate at restaurant il grano: great location, fresh good and creative way of serving it), did a detective-trail in the old town (great way to learn about some legends and discover the city!), saw the 11 hour clock, visited the waldegg castle, ate well (brasserie federale, cantinetta bindella), got a great massage at the last floor of H4 hotel with a great view and generally just enjoyed the lively and relaxing atmosphere there.
It was such an amazing discovery!!!
I just stayed one night in the hotel Enge while travelling from Italy to Germany. I want to point out that the staff was very helpful and friendly. My room was not very spacious but was quiet and of course clean (how could it be different in Switzerland?) and had everything I needed. I had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. And the next morning I had breakfast which was excellent as well.
The breakfast as reputed was great, from the buns of bread that were exceptional to the staff members that made sure nothing was overwhelming nor overlooked. The parking is spacious enough for each guest to arrive in a separate large vehicle and park with ease. The location is also such that it can’t be missed, as the hotel is on a bit of a hill!
This is a beautiful old hotel right in the centre of this historic town. You an walk to all the main attractions and wander through the ancient streets. The room was huge and imaginatively decorated and the beds super comfortable.
The breakfast is in a wood panelled original dining hall on the ground floor.
An exceptionally good hotel, wherein everything was exceptional. Whether it was location, staff, cleanliness, quality of rooms, silence in rooms, air Conditioning, all was good. Staff was very cooperative. They had solution for everything. I liked their attitude towards customer needs.
The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is a little dated but good value for money. The manager was friendly and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The hotel is close to the station and about a 5-10 min walk to the old town.
I really needed a place to stay in Solothurn and other choices were not available at short notice. This hotel was available and I appreciated that. This hotel is in a great location and has the potential to be charming. It is very clean.
